The softball tournament is a double elimination format. Depending on the number of entries, a round robin or pool play may be played instead of double elimination. Also if there are enough entries (approx 5-6 teams) to pay for itself, there will be an over 40 division. There is also an individual home run hitting contest.
The teams are responsible for supplying their own balls. Games will be played under USSSA or ASA Rules, depending on the host city. If playing by ASA Rules, that means only a stamp ASA 47/375 core ball (white or yellow) can be used and will be inspected by the Umpire Association.
If playing by USSSA Rules, that means only a .44 or .40 core USSSA ball can be used and will be inspected by the Umpire Association. Check USSSA Today for rules and list of approved bats.
